Andrew is a passionate Sailor and lover of a well-found cruising boat, be it Power or Sail. He has turned that Passion into a career in boatbuilding that spans 4 decades and understands how to build and refit boats to deliver exceptional cruising and racing experiences for passionate owners.

 

Dingy /Adventure boat

We build and design a 4m lightweight vacuum-infused Composite Tender/ runabout.  Purpose designed as either a car Topper to fit the Rhino-Rack lift system in a 20Hp rating or as Center Console Tender to larger Cruising Vessels with a 30-40 Hp Rating. 

A unique unsinkable lightweight adventure craft.  These boats have been carried on a roof rack to many remote parts of Australia as a fishing and adventure platform… and can be semi-customized for each individual owner under our Overlanda brand. 

This is the only 4m Tender in Australia to have been tested and approved as a six-man flooded survey, we know, we tested it with the surveyor!

Houseboats

We also manufacture houseboats on our Nelson Rabel Designed Hulls. These are built in our factory on the Gold Coast. We can build these to whatever spec the owner is happy with, be it a finished vessel.  These can be built In survey as an option, standard hulls, or as a kit.  The most recent build was a kit for a client for Bulahdelah. We sent a flatpack, by road, for assembly onsite in NSW. 

Although designed as a flat water boat, they have proved to be very seaworthy and we now have 5 boats in Port Stephens, three have made the journey down the NSW Coast from QLD.  These are very stable hull forms, with good carrying capacity,  tunnel clearance, watertight bulkheads, and good freeboard…   See the Houseboat page here…,

 

Contract Manufacturing

We also do fully outsourced contract manufacturing of fiberglass boats for some well-known brands in Australia.  So if you are a manufacturer and need to upscale or outsource manufacturing quickly we can help. 

One example of contract manufacturing is that we build to your specification completely, your brand your spec. Another example is where we build to your spect one of our existing products for you to option later, motor, seats, instrumentation, etc...

Insurance, Refit & Repair Work

Mostly however it’s project work refit, remodeling, and repair of existing fiberglass and wooden boats.   We are very competitive and have a good reputation in the trade.

Everything from installing engines, steering systems, autopilots, plumbing, and marine-grade electrical systems.  We have established a reputation in electrical system refits incorporating the latest technologies in solar, wind, lithium battery storage, inverters, and Victron ac/dc distribution.  See the project page for more details.

We have a team of subcontractors so, given reasonable notice, can together with our shipwright and fiberglass teams pull together the expertise to complete most aspects, of most marine projects.
